...a little change!

Free hand ribbon embroider by me...

Change purse, designed and made by me...
There's an old saying I've heard, "change is as good as a holiday"!

Some people are afraid of change, afraid of learning something new, afraid that things will be different, afraid that they won't be able to do the task at hand?

Change can be uplifting, refreshing, rewarding...

...myself, I quite like change...

...it's a time for experimentation, a time for adventure, a time to let loose and be free!

Change purse, designed and made by me....

Yes, sometimes change can be hard... it can be scary....

...the unexpected outcome, the extra time it takes to do something differently that you've done the same way many times before, the "what happens if I don't like it?" kind of change.

But we are born to change...

...born to adapt...

Could also be used for trinkets....

...from day to day nothing will ever be the same as it was the day before, we will never look exactly the same as the day before, we will never feel exactly the same as the day before....

...and we will always be that little bit older and that little bit wiser than we were the day before!

Are you afraid of change or do you welcome it wholeheartedly?

The little piece of ribbon on the loop on the left is to hold a key which sits inside the purse!

Happy life!

  1. Your exquisite change purse is a harbinger of spring, Heather. It’s a pleasure to see a cherished Alice book and your painstakingly fine workmanship. What a lovely thought to change winter’s weeks into creativity.

  2. Love ribbon embroidery! Lovely! Generally I like change-- can't tell how often I used to rearrange furniture. My family even joked about it!

  4. Heather the little purse is precious! Beautiful handwork. Change? I've always thought I was flexible. I've always been one to plod along, throw it my way and I will make it work. Lately I've been thrown a few too many curve balls and have decided I need some consistency in my life for a bit. Bonnie

  9. For a bit I didn't realize you had made the little purse...lovely, lovely work! As for change, the older I get the more I like things "just like always,"(quote from our little grandson, who doesn't like change and says he doesn't want to grow up).

And Change is good and bad... depends on the kind of change, but change always makes us stronger!
