...little!

More hubby taken photos... thanks Sweetie!

A long way to go!
I live in a remote area...

...we don't have much for shopping...

...we are miles from anywhere and everywhere...

...therefore, I shop mostly online...

...but finding things is sometimes difficult...

...I'm looking for Christmas miniatures, nice quality (but cheap), bottle brush trees, little reindeer, snowmen, buildings, people, etc...

Inch by inch!

...I need them because I'm considering making some Christmas ornies for next year, some to be sold to raise money for my wildlife efforts...

...does anyone know a great online source that sells nice quality (but cheap - I'm Scottish remember) miniatures?

...I might as well start now with Christmas still fresh on the mind and lots of time to get to the next one....

... I love miniatures, aren't they adorable!

I'll get there sooner or later... but it's a long way to go for such a little guy!
...thanks everyone!

Happy life!

  1. Haha ~ this little guy is hopefully just concentrating on putting one foot in front of the other! Or...however many feet he has...because he's got a long way to go! :D

Wishing you a most happy New Year Heather!
    Hugs!

  2. Hello! Thanks for your kind comments on my blog.

As for the miniatures, I get them pretty much everywhere. If you're interested in any in particular that I've used in my own decorating, please just ask. Most likely they came from my top 3 craft stores: Michael's, Hobby Lobby and JoAnn's. The glitter houses I've always bought at Hobby Lobby, although the red and white church that we got this year was ready-made. No painting was involved at all. That particular one was expensive to start with, but my mother found two of them yesterday at Michael's. They were marked down from $20 to $5 each!

Let's see... remember the little felt penguin and snowmen we used with some of our glitter houses? Those came in a pack at Michael's. A LOT come in a pack, and they're our favorite because there are no hooks on their head that you have to cut off and cover up with Snow-Tex.

This year was when we finally found the miniature fences. Those came from Hobby Lobby. One kind has to be painted, and the other fold-out fence is already painted white.

I see I'm rambling now. Lol! But again, if you're curious about any of the crafting supplies you've seen on my blog please just ask. I'd be more than happy to help!

  3. Okay that creeps me out...
When I was growing up we lived on the Island of Guam for a time and once a year these little inch worm things would cover certain trees and the trees were all over and if you walked under them the worms would fall all over you, so you just brought back a child hood memory for me!! :)
I hope you have a very peaceful and prosperous 2013! Love, Tammy xx

  4. Heather, I will keep my eyes open for your source of miniatures...what about a hobby shop that specializes in trains?

Best of the New Year to you.

  5. Hi Heather,
I purchased my bottle-brush trees from Michael's in the doll house section, but they weren't especially cheap.
Maybe check out dollhouse miniatures on Etsy or miniatures.com?
    Happy hunting and Happy 2013!
